| Project Alignment - SYS utilizes a unique process to partnering called Project Alignment. This process supports our mission of a “A Quality Construction Experience”. Traditional partnering process required large commitments of time, resources, and money. Our process supports our mission statement by respecting the time commitment of all stakeholders. The process identifies the important issues and develops a manageable plan to deal with the issues. Additionally, the process is cost effective. This process is conducted on every SYS project, no exceptions. We utilize a 3rd party facilitator, Tom Davis of Enable Management Consultants, to conduct interviews and facilitate the alignment meeting. The 3rd party involvement separates the emotion from the process and keeps the group focused on the issues.
The benefits of Project Alignment:
- We get input from all of the stake holders, and
- We manage this input.
- We eliminate inconsistencies.
- We avoid conflicts by:
- Defining roles and responsibilities.
- Defining a communication plan.
- We define project success factors and how will the project be measured.
- We celebrate milestones.
Once we have completed the above, we publish minutes from this meeting and these minutes become the criteria on which we make decisions and measure success. |

+/- 5% Budget – SYS generates a budget estimate for your building utilizing real time pricing from the market place. This budget is presented in an open book format with all information available for your review and comment |

Go/No Go – This is the point where a decision is made to move forward with the project. The value of SYS process is if you decide not to move forward, your cost is minimal. This is in contrast to going through the design process, extending full design cost, bidding the project, and discovering that you must redesign to get in budget. |

Permitting – SYS submits drawings and documentation to the local authorities for permitting. |

Sign Contract – SYS generates a contract for your signature. We utilize standard AIA contracts. SYS is comfortable working under a Guaranteed Maximum Price or Lump Sum Contract. |

Customer Evaluation – Upon completion, Tom Davis returns to evaluate how we performed in relation to the expectations form the Project Alignment Meeting. |
